Theme:
This session will explore how melting or "deconstructing" traditional jobs can enhance impede workforce optimization, automation, and flexibility. Using a case study focused on a nursing shortage in a hospital, participants will learn to deconstruct existing life sciences jobs into tasks, projects, etc., and how that allows the deconstructed work elements flow to those best suited to perform them, to better optimize work automation, and to offer alternatives to talent shortages beyond traditionally "recruiting for jobs". The goal is to stimulate innovative thinking on redefining work design, and maximizing the existing workforce.
By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:
- Reimagine work design, moving beyond conventional job descriptions, and identify where jobs can be deconstructed for greater flexibility and efficiency.
- Address workforce gaps by redistributing tasks and reevaluating work qualifications.
- Align work tasks with organizational objectives, fostering a more agile and responsive workforce.
